Sucker Punched Black and White

I recently saw Sucker Punch and although the movie itself was mostly forgettable it did have some pretty cool art direction. I started this a few days ago and although I wasn't consciously thinking of Sucker Punch when I started thoughts of the movie did creep into my head while doing it. That being said the only real similarities is that this is a chick with some armor holding a weapon.

I've just been exploring trying to find a particular style in which I want to do things. I find I really enjoy hatching/shading but don't really enjoy coloring and I've been trying to figure out a way to supplement my coloring with my hatching. I've found though that hatching on the computer makes me want to zoom in as much as possible and do the tiniest most precise lines. This isn't necessarily a good thing. For one it is extremely time consuming. Secondly some of the hatching detail is lost when the image is shrunk down to a smaller size and resolution.
