Infrared Photography River by Wallcrawler62 Infrared Photography River by Wallcrawler62
Another Infrared shot. This was done with my Sony F707 in Nightshot mode, an infrared filter, and neutral density filters. Adjustments done in Photoshop Lightroom.

Interesting technique. I wonder what would happen if you could up the exposure to a quarter of a second with a stronger ND filter or smaller aperture.

Cropping the very bottom away does seem to be an improvement.

dark, eerie, stunning... I love this special atmosphere you created here. It is not just another IR color photoshop channel swap blah blah... This is the kind of pictures I would to see more often when it comes to IR landscape photography!

I love this infrared-effect :) The intense contrasts are amazing and I like the surreal atmosphere so the viewer has to look twice before figuring out the scene ;)

An interesting picture. But i think, that the grass at the lower border of the image is a bit distractive. Maybe the picture would look better without it. Hope you don't mind the small critique :)

Beautiful! What do the filters hat are not the infrared do? Most other infrared photos Ive seen come out pink. Are the other filters the reason this one is not?

The camera I am using is not IR converted. It has a "nightshot" mode that shoots basically the same way nightvision goggles work. For IR photography I have to cover the nightvision sensors and shoot in nightshot mode, but the camera does not allow you to shoot in nightshot mode if it is getting a lot of sunlight. I think this is mostly because Nightvision can see through some clothing fabrics. So in order to shoot IR, I have to use Neutral Density (NR) filters. They basically just darken the lens letting less light in. This tricks the camera into thinking it is night and letting me shoot in nightshot mode. White nightshot mode does is move what I believe is called the "hot glass" that blocks out infrared light. The shots don't come out red for me, more of a greenish tint. I then do adjustments and change color in photoshop and lightroom.
